Note: to submit to the
web directory, you must now be a member. This change has been made on
account of spam to the directory. Becoming a member is free and spam
free.
Once you have registered and confirmed your registration email, login and navigate to the web directory to submit your link.
Please read below before submitting. Failing to read these instructions could result in your link being rejected.
1. Does my website qualify for inclusion in the Web Directory?
A. Websites related to the arts (particularly those in Canada) will be
considered for inclusion. However, websites for individual artists will
not be considered. Neither will websites or pages that focus on the
work of one artist/ writer etc. If you are an artist in Canada (or a
Canadian artist
living abroad), you can be listed on CanadianArtsNet in the Artists
Directory (which includes a link).
The following do not qualify and will be deleted:
- Websites for individual artists, performers or writers
- Websites which are not either Canadian or of specific interest to Canadian artists
- Links to online stores unless they are very helpful
- Links to individual works of art, performance or writing
If your submission does not qualify, please do not waste my time or yours. Submitting repetitively will not get you listed.
2. How do I submit my website?
A. Once you have determined whether your website qualifies (see
question 1), you can add your website either by navigating to the
appropriate category and clicking on "Submit site" or by clicking on
"Submit site" elsewhere in the directory.
Select the appropriate category using the drop-down list. To select
more than one category, hold down your cntrl key and click. If you
clicked on "Submit site" from the wrong category, make sure you
deselect that category by clicking on it (as it will be automatically
selected).
If you do not select the right category, we will do our best to
select it for you. However, this may result in a delay to your listing,
or in some cases it will result in your website not being listed.
Please take the time to ensure that you have selected the correct
category and note that each major section has nearly 20 subsections.
For instance, if you have a dance site in Ontario, it should be listed
in the Dance section for Ontario, not the Funding section (which
accounts for the first 20 listings in the Category selection box).
After you submit your website for consideration, we will consider it and decide whether it will be included. Note that this can take several weeks.
Finally, once you have submitted your website,
please consider adding a link to CanadianArtsNet to your website. This
is not necessary to retain your listing, but is always greatly
appreciated.
Note: CanadianArtsNet selects websites based on
usefulness and appropriateness of content. We do not automatically
accept all submissions and reserve the right to turn your website down
for any reason.
